Gadi Taub, on YNet, writes his concern about Israeli elite’s shift from solidarity-based identity to individualism – If the only “Jewish” identity you connect with is a private, individual one, where is the sense of  community, what is the relevance of a cultural pride connected with the solidarity of seeing yourself in others?

If the ties that bind are weaker than that which divides – Why bother with ritual, with the Hebrew language, with Israel at all?
